Free Christmas downloads!

If you are already sick of Christmas music this year, just download it for next year! Heck, burn the music onto cd's and give them away as presents!
Both AND Itunes store have TONS of Christmas songs for free!
Here is what I've gotten so far:
Casting Crowns- Joy to the World
Carola - Hark, the Herald Angels Sing
House of Heroes - Silent Night
Tracy Lawrence - All Wrapped up in Christmas
Stroudavarious Orchestra - Joy to the World
Todd Agnew - No Room
Aliqua - Oh Come Emmanuel
Curious George (one for the kids!) - Christmas with a Monkey
Jars of Clay - God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen
(There's a ton more (a total of 25 to celebrate the 25 days of Christmas. They release a new song for free everyday until the 25th.)

WARNING:- Just be careful, because a couple of the songs are explicit (none of the ones I mentioned, though) and the Lady Gaga one is dumb. Talk about ruining a Christmas song! Yeesh!

The Tallest of Smalls book review

It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Max Lucado. I absolutely love his (and LaHaye's) Left Behind series and I've read every single one!
I love the fact that I can share his creative mind with my children! In this book, The Tallest of Smalls, he shows us that you don't have to "fit in" to be loved by God. The flow of the story is very similar to that of a Dr. Suess book. What a great book for kids to read or have an adult read to them!

Some Great new Free Deals!

As you know, my FAVORITE 4 letter word is F-R-E-E!
I don't post on here 24/7 because just about all the deals are the same on every money-saving website. What I try to post on here, are deals that I find that are not typically on other sites. (unless it's something absolutely fantastic, like the Amelia Earhart tickets!)
So, here is what I have found:

Free Digilake coffee cup- really cool mug with slots in the handle for your spoon! Click HERE to enter your information!

Free Reynolds Pastry box set- You do need to purchase Reynolds parchment paper, aluminum foil & baking cups in one transaction, then print off the form and mail in your receipt, along with the UPC's, BUT it is a really cute set and with all of the Reynolds coupons out there, I think it's definitely worth the effort! Click HERE to get to the order form!

Free Breast Cancer Awareness gel bracelet- You just need to fill out the form. That's it! My daughter LOVES these bracelets and we are HUGE supporters of Breast Cancer, so this is a great way to spread breast cancer awareness! Click HERE to request your bracelet!

Alright. This one is a bit on the cheesy side, but hey, it's on Halloween, so you can get away with it! Dress like a burrito on Oct. 31st and go to your nearest Chipotle restaurant and claim your FREE burrito! I've never done this before, but from what I am hearing, you can even just wrap your finger in aluminum foil and they will give you one. Of course, if you want to go all out, you can wrap your entire self in aluminum foil! That would make some GREAT Kodak moments!

Talk about a GREAT freebie!
Regal Cinemas and Fox is offering up FREE movie tickets to see the screening of the new movie Amelia, about Amelia Earhart! It is for Oct. 20th at 7:30 at Regal Cinemas at Virginia Center Commons. Richmond is one of the few cities that are showing this for free, so hurry! They will give you 2 tickets per email address. Click HERE to get your tickets asap! They are only offering up but so many!

Kabul 24 Book Review

As a Thomas Nelson book review blogger, I have the priveledge to read and review many wonderful books! This was not an exception!
Kabul 24 is a story that grabs your attention from the very first sentence and then takes you into a world we see in the media but never quite grasp the inhumane conditions for both citizens and prisoners alike. Just prior to the 9/11 attacks, an organization called Shelter Now International was working in Afghanistan to help the people have the basic needs of life; medical care, food, shelter, education, and a hope for the future. Much to their surprise, eight of the international workers (and 16 nationals) are taken prisoner. As I read it, I was horrified at the conditions that the "prisoners" were forced to live in and inspired by their commitment to God and their unyielding love the Afghan people. While we all watch the news reports from around the world and think that someone should do something to help, these people stepped out in faith to lend humanitarian aid. Even while being persecuted, they never failed to have faith that their God was bigger than the problems they were facing and could use their circumstances to His glory. The impact they have on those around them is amazing!
If you need to read a compelling story, this would be the perfect book for you!

A GREAT Bible for Toddlers!

Since becoming a blow book review for Thomas Nelson I have been getting hooked up with some awesome books to read to my son! This one is SO GREAT! I LOVE IT!
My 16 month old son loves books! He especially LOVES this Bible! We read certain Bible stories several times before we watched the corresponding story on the DVD. He is really not big into cartoons, but after having read the story, he recognized the characters on the DVD and loved it! It's such a great alternative to most of the junk that is on tv today. I give this book 5 stars! If I could give it six stars, I would! Definitely a must have!

Coupon Mania!

Did you get the paper this past weekend? I did! I got a few copies, actually :)
If you bought a couple, I just thought I'd give you a tip on how to save time when clipping away.
Separate the coupon inserts. (i.e. put the Red Plum w/the Red Plum, the SmartSource w/the Smartsource....etc.)
Then stack each page on top of their respective duplicate and cut at the same time. This save a TON of time. You know...two stone....

Also, I refilled my ink this past weekend at Office Max for $10 and now I am able to print the fabulous coupons below!

You can print all your Red Plum Coupons here

Here's a current list (yours may be different depending on your zip code):

$1.00 off Colgate Max Whitening Toothpaste
$2.00 off Scott paper towels - long lasting roll 4pk
$2.00 off Centrum Ultra
$1.00 off 3 Del Monte SuperFruit Cups (refrig. section)
$1.00 off 3 Del Monte Fruit Naturals Cups (refrig section)
$1.00 off Del Monte Fruit Chillers (cups or tubes)
$1.50 off 2 Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats, All Bran or Raisin Bran
$1.00 off Caltrate
$1.00 off Marzetti dressing
50 cents off Kellogg's Yogos fruit snacks
$1.50 off Ponds wet cleansing towelettes
55 cents off Kretschmar Deli product
$1.00 off Glen Oaks drinkable yogurt
$5 off Wrinkle Free eye product
$10 free play with purchase of $10 game play at Dave & Busters

By the way, the Del Monte Fruit Chillers tubes are AWESOME! They are $2 at Wal-Mart, so with the above coupon, it would only be $1!

Ukrops this week

Just a reminder that Ukrops has daily specials every week. They are the same every week as well.
Also, this week only, Ukrops has locally grown peaches on sale for .98 cents/lb! Time to make some peach cobbler! Yum!!!!!

Getting spoiled w/school supplies!

You KNOW your getting spoiled with great deals on school supplies when your child asks you to buy them some highlighters and they are "on sale" for $1 and you say "That's Expensive....I can get that at Walgreens for .29 cents"!
I am seriously stockpiling school supplies over here! Yesterday, I went to Office Max and my daughter and I each had a transacation.
Each transaction:
3 rulers (0.1 cents each)
3 packs of wide ruled filler paper (.10 cents each)
6 folders (.25 cents each)
3 packs of 12. count #2 pencils (.10 cents each)
2 composition books (.50 cents each)
Grand total: $3.13!

Now, obviously she is not going to need 6 rulers and all of these composition books we have been stocking up on lately. Remember, local churches and charity groups LOVE school supply donations! Our church is currently hosting a school supply drive for the inner city children of Richmond. Whenever I see a great sale like this, I stock up and donate! The same goes for food! So, if you see something that is on sale at an unbelievable price, be sure to pass the savings on to someone in need!
I plan on going back a few times this week to get more stuff for our church!

Monday, July 27, 2009

Well, well...what do we have HERE??!

Looks like Harris Teeter is coming to Richmond after all! There's no denying it now!
I found this in the coupon section of Sunday's paper!

Don't get frustraed w/Back to school stuff!

I just wanted to do a little post on back to school items.
I know for myself, I see these great deals at Walgreens and CVS, but when I go there, they are out of the item I wanted and there are NO rainchecks!
Then, I remembered that Wal-Mart will match any competitor's coupon! So, if you find yourself in this situation, remember to just bring the ad to Wal-Mart and they will match it!
Also, this works for the pharmacy transfers! If you have a coupon for a $25 CVS gift card if you transfer a prescription, you can bring that coupon to Wal-Mart and they will give you a $25 Wal-Mart Gift cert. for transferring your prescription there! I know this first hand! Just don't forget to bring your coupon!

sham WOW! are some GREAT freebies!

What a sweet book!

I LOVE being a Thomas Nelson book reviewer! This is the first book I received to review and it
was just such a joy to read to my son!
The name of this book is "The I Believe Bunny".
The quality of the book is top notch! Very sturdy!
I love that in the beginning, the book starts off with a Bible verse that is pertinent to the story your about to read.
In this book, the I Believe Bunny finds a small mouse caught in a river and asks for God's help in giving him the strength and courage to rescue the mouse from the river.
I'm not going to give the story are going to have to out and purchase one for yourself to find out what happens :)
For a mere price of $9.99, it's definitely worth it! I'm going to be buying other books in this series!
The book has a "Cat in the Hat" feel to it when you are reading it. I guess that is because the author currently also writes for current Dr. Suess books! That is what I call genious!
Go out and pick up your copy today!

Favorite Things Friday!

Sorry for my "MIA" status this week! It's just been one of those weeks! I'm glad it's over and I'm ready to make up for lost time!
Here are a few of my recent favorite things!

I used my BURTS BEES coupon on this and I am SOoooo addicted to this stuff! Since it's medicated, it makes your lips a little cool! They put pure clove oil in it to give your lips that cooling sensation. I absolutely LOVE The smell of cloves, so it's a double bonus for me! And it was free!
Since my daughter has a summer choc-ful-o camps, I bought Avon's Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus! I know she won't "thoroughly" put on sunscreen or bug spray without my presence, so this is the next best thing! Since it's an aerosol, it spreads on very easily, all over! It's super cheap when you compare apples to apples with name brands that you see in the grocery and drug stores. Want some? Visit my friend Sani's website and order yours today! Click HERE to get to her website!

I always see this stuff in the stores, but just kind of pass it by and opt for a cheaper brand that I have a coupon for. Well, I recieved a sample of it in the mail a few days ago and fell in love! It really makes my hair shinier and more manageable! I know that other bloggers are posting about the Walgreens Buy 3 for $15, and get register rewards, but I feel like my deal is better and it costs less!
At Walgreens right now, they have a "travel pack" of John Frieda hair products (shampoo, conditioner and conditioning spray). They come in a box set and are located directly next to the regular size John Frieda shampoo in the hair care isle. The sets are normally about $6, but are on clearance for $2.16! Better yet, if you peek inside the box before you check out, there is a coupon you can pull out that is $3 off 2 John Frieda products! You can get the box sets for just $1 each! Perfect for summertime and traveling! Cha-ching!

This purse is originally $90, but it is currently on SALE for $25! To make the deal even sweeter, use code SS5N38MG2 and save an additional 10% off your order!

This purse is available in three different colors at this price!
My fave is "Frankly Scarlet", but you can also get it in "Night Owl" or "Riviera Blue" (which is the one pictured!

Kids Meal Deals in Richmond

NBC 12 here in Richmond recently published an interesting article on what restaurants there are locally where kids eat free. I posted it below for your viewing pleasure.

This got me to thinking, however, what other restaurants in the area offer kids eat free specials.

I found THIS website and it is good for any area, anywhere. You just type in your zip code and it will bring up the restaurants in your area where kids eat FREE!!!

In these tough economic times, a night out at a restaurant with the family is something many people skip these days. But the Richmond areas has dozens of local restaurants that offer kids eat free nights to help make the trip less expensive.

Our local champion is Spinnaker's Restaurant in Midlothian -- home of the flowerpot bread.

"The owner of the restaurant was big about children and is a big family man," said manager Jeremy Krebs. "He just wanted to go that aspect of it and do something nice for the community."

Kids 12 and under can eat free all day Mondays through Thursdays from the kid's menu at their Chesterfield Towne Center location -- a deal that Spinnaker's has offered for 20 years.

"Children are the diners of the future," Krebs said. "I have several friends who I met here through the restaurant who remember coming here when they were 6, 7, 8 years old.

"You know we've been here for 22 years. They still come in to this day -- that a good reason to keep it going."

Home of the famous bathtub salad bar, The Fan District's ever-popular Strawberry Street Café is the place for kids to go for free eats -- Wednesdays, after 5 p.m.

The restaurant has offered the kid's night special for about two years, said chef and owner Ron Joseph.

"We saw the downturn in the economy, we figured we'd try and offer families a way to get out of the house without a lot of money," Joseph said. "I've got two kids, so I know how important it is."

Another local favorite, River City Diner has two locations that offer Kids Eat Free night -- in the North Side at Parham and Interstate 95 and at the Shops at Bellgrade in Chesterfield.

"The parents like it because they get to come out a little bit cheaper, the kids are kind of occupied," said Jeff Fisher, manager at the Parham River City Diner.

Every Wednesday night, 5 p.m. until closing, two children under 12 can order free from the kid's menu with every adult entrée. Kids can enjoy the retro atmosphere, breakfast served all day and delectable items from the desert menu.

Favorite Things Friday (on Saturday!)

Sorry for my tardiness! I was so caught up yesterday with the last day of school festivities I forgot to post my Favorite Things Friday!

This week, I would like to highlight some of my favorite sites/blogs that are so helpful to me! I visit these places (some of them are completely unknown, too!) just about every day!

Looking4Deals - This is what I like to call a secret one really knows about it...but they will now! Looking4Deals updates all the time and has a lot of different information and savings than other blogs and sites do. I urge you to check it out!

Whatsfordin-din - I am constantly going to this site. A bunch of my friends are all authors for this site and they share recipes that are tried and true! A lot of them even have pictures, too! Some of my favorites on there are: Bang Bang Shrimp, Easy Chicken Marsala, White Chili, Corn Bread, Chicken Pot Pie and many, many more! These are a great bunch of Southern gals with some recipes worth trying and adding to your recipe box!

TipJunkie - Now that it is summertime, I am ready for some serious crafting! I absolutely love arts and crafts. The problem is, I have a hard time coming up with something unique and new all on my own. That is when I visit this site! There are some super crafty women out there and everytime I visit this site, I get inspired!

Eaaaasssssyy Money......

I know there are a lot of various "survey" programs out there and such. To be honest, with two kids, a part-time job, volunteer duties...etc. I don't have time to take surveys all day long!
There is this really great program calls "Inbox Dollars". They send you emails and ALL YOU HAVE TO DO OPEN THEM! How great is that? No survey or anything! Depending on the email, mine vary from just a few cents to $1 per email and I get about 5-6 emails a day!
When your total reaches $30, they send you a check in the mail!
This is not a scam or some program to put "Spam" in your box. This is Bargain Noble tested and approved!
Of course, if you want to do surveys, you can and they will pay you. The choice is totally yours.
Right now, for fans of Bargain Noble, you can sign up and automatically earn $5, just for signing up!
Click the banner below to start earning EASY money today :)

Gevalia coffee deal.....

Ok. I've heard ALL about the various Gevalia coffee deals, so I found one that works for me and I'm going to give it a go!
Use code 401575 - For $5 (INCLUDES SHIPPING), you will get two boxes of fresh ground or whole bean, Gevalia coffee (I chose Breakfast Blend and their Signature Blend). You will also get a brand new 12-cup Gevalia coffee maker! All for just $5, shipped!

Once your order is processed you will be automatically enrolled in Gevalia shipments. This isn't a big deal, though, since after your order arrives you can cancel with no further obligation... meaning you will NOT ever be billed again or sent anything more! After you receive your 1st shipment just make sure to call this number-1-800-438-2542 and cancel. That's it! If you're a coffee lover, like me, then you'll definitely want to get in on this great buy!
Might I also mention, you do NOT have to enter any credit card information, either. Just choose to be billed and make sure you cancel after you receive your shipment and send them a check for $5!

Click HERE and enter the code 401575! $25 gift certificates for $2. Again.

Does anyone ever even pay full price for these things anymore?? Not that I'm complaining, but they should just set the price for these gift certificates for $2 on their website! Seriously!

I ended up buying a couple of "gift certificates" to the website a while ago (bought (2) $25 gift certificate for $2 each) and then on the first of the month, I go in and redeem my gift certificates to get a $25 Casa Grande gift certificate and only paid $2 for it! Now, I do need to spend $35 in order to get my $25 off, but still........a GREAT deal!

The site replenishes their stock on the 1st of the month, so if your restaurant is currently sold out, just buy a gift certificate to the site and wait until the first of July. Totally worth it.
The code to use right now is "PRESENT" - I'm not sure when it expires, so hurry, hurry, hurry!
Head on over to today!

JCPenney- St. John's Bay wheeled duffle bag-$10!

These bags are sooooo awesome! They are regularly priced at $80, but right now they are on clearance:
22' wheeled duffle is $19.99
32' wheeled duffle is $26.99

Upon check-out, use code GR8DAD, and get an additional $10 off, making your 22' wheeled duffle a mere $10! That's $70 in savings! Insane!
Shipping is $5.95 to your home or you may ship to your local store for $4.50.
If you want one, hurry, hurry, hurry! The yellow one is almost gone!
Click HERE to order yours today!

Sorry for my MIA status!

I have been tending to my infant son, who has strep throat, a double ear infection and a really high fever! Sorry I haven't been able to update as much as I would like.
He is starting to feel a little bit better and I have got some killer deals that I'll be posting here in just a bit!
Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Old Navy - My turn! Woohoo!

Old Navy was supposed to reset last night. I stayed up until 12:10am and then called it a night. I didn't think anything about it until I got up this morning at 7:30am. I thought, well...let me just check the site to see what it looks like. Loe and behold...the site still hadn't reset!

Also, there is some speculation that the site will reset again on Thursday because all of the coupons and the deals listed on the site expire on Thursday. I guess we'll see. I won't be holding my breath!
